(5) Eugene: Yes, the Russian Zenitar. Very sharp, fun lens! Only problems are you can't use the cameras metering system and it does not work on less than full frame digital chips. So I use it on an old film camera (nikon n80) and bracket the exposures.
Like all fisheyes, it has the best effect if you get really, really, close to your subject. This poses some hazzards if your subject is a alligator. :-) After this frame the gator came after me and chased me out of the water up the creek bank, snapping its jaws.
(6) Larry Korhnak: Yes, that's what I meant: with some models I'd rather use loooong telephoto lenses; and not because they give more flattering look. :-)
BTW, I use Zenitar on EOS 10D; the fish-eye effect is lost, of course, but it works as quite wide angle lens: about 20 mm equivalent.
